Cataract & Refractive (Specs Removal)
Restore visual freedom with advanced computer-guided surgeries
Refractive Cataract Surgery
Cataract is the gradual clouding of the eye’s natural lens. At Vision - The Eye & Retina Centre, we perform micro-incision Phacoemulsification. Through an incision of less than 2.2 mm, the cloudy lens is liquefied using high-frequency ultrasound waves and replaced with a clear artificial intraocular lens (IOL).
We utilize computer-guided digital marking to map Toric and Multifocal implants accurately, achieving visual targets and reducing the need for glasses after surgery.
Premium Intraocular Lenses (IOLs)
Your choice of IOL directly determines your visual independence after cataract surgery. We provide options matching your lifestyle:
Monofocal IOLs
Provides clear vision at one primary distance (usually far). Spectacles are typically required for reading, writing, and computer tasks.
Toric IOLs
Specifically shaped to correct corneal astigmatism, ensuring crisp distance vision without the distorting effects of cylindrical numbers.
Multifocal & Trifocal IOLs
Uses diffractive rings to distribute light at multiple focus zones (distance, intermediate, and near). Reduces dependence on reading glasses.
EDOF (Extended Depth of Focus) Lenses
Creates a single continuous elongated focal point. Delivers clear distance and intermediate vision (computer work, driving) with a natural visual profile.
LASIK & Specs Removal
If you want to eliminate glasses, we offer advanced laser solutions. For patients with high refractive errors or thin corneas, we specialize in **ICL (Implantable Collamer Lenses)**. An ICL is a thin collamer lens inserted behind the iris, leaving the natural cornea unaltered while providing high visual quality.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a modern refractive cataract surgery take?
The active Phacoemulsification procedure typically takes 10 to 15 minutes. However, patient preparation, dilation, and postoperative checkups mean you should plan to spend 2 to 3 hours at our daycare center.
Is LASIK laser surgery painful?
No, anesthetic drops are applied to completely numb the eye. Patients might feel a slight pressure sensation for less than a minute during laser alignment, but the overall procedure is comfortable and pain-free.
Who is an ideal candidate for ICL (Implantable Collamer Lenses)?
ICL is suitable for patients aged 18 to 45 with stable refractive errors, especially those with high spectacle numbers (above -8.0D) or thin corneas who are not eligible for traditional LASIK.
